TEMPO.CO, JakartaJakarta Governor Anies Baswedan planned to install more air quality monitoring systems to obtain complete data regarding the city’s air quality.

“If today we are asked by those who said [the capital's] air quality is poor, we can say that’s only in 10-15 areas of Jakarta,” said Anies at the City Hall, Central Jakarta, Friday, July 5.

Anies mentioned that the data often used to determine air quality were obtained from the monitoring system belonged to the air forecaster AirVisual placed in the U.S. Embassy office in Gambir, Central Jakarta. So, according to him, the data only represented the Gambir area and its vicinity.

“We will have more monitoring tools of air quality so they will reach wider areas of Jakarta,” Anies determined.
